The fate of Surveying professionals largely depends on the Will and Wish of Insurance Companies. This is an age old fact, and even after the formation of IRDA there is a little/marginal change in the scenario.
Under such trying circumstances, we the SURVEYORS=SOLDIERS have come up with an ideology that should fill the gaps between ‘what is said in IRDA guidelines’ and ‘what is ideally required from a Surveyor’s point of view.’
We invite your views on certain burning issues- related to surveying profession today, so that we can create a wave of POSITIVE AND CONTRIBUTORY TASK FORCE of Committed Surveyors, that shall ultimately help your Company grow beyond bounds and face least hassles in claim settlement. Here are a few questions:
Is Categorization necessary?
- How has Categorization helped your Company
- in curbing the fraudulent claims ratio
- in prudent settlement of claims
- in work distribution to the surveyors of your city/ region
- in quality improvement of survey reports
- in selection of surveyor
- anything else which goes to confirm the continuity of Categorization tool
- Given a choice, you would prefer assigning survey to an independent Self Entrepreneur OR a representative surveyor of a Network of Surveyors like Cunningham Lindsey/ J. B. Boda? Please state the reasons in each case.
- Would you like to have the freedom for fixing the Survey fees? OR would like to abide by common guidelines from IRDA/its representative body.
- In which way the Institute of Surveyors and Adjusters, Mumbai has contributed in effective Claim settlement. Please describe with examples.
- What role would you like to play in the formation of new Institute of Surveyors, Hyderabad, and do you sincerely visualize the need for that, OR anticipate it to be a hindrance to your effective Business planning.
- What investments have you made so far / propose to make in future for Welfare of Surveyors in India, whose role is so crucial in Settlement of Claims.
- Given a choice by IRDA, would you like to stop using the services of Independent Surveyors? If yes, how shall you preserve the basic values of Claim settlement process?
- If any of your officer is caught red handed having fraudulent interest in a claim by a designated Surveyor, and he reports the case to higher Officer/ Vigilance Officer, what would you do?
- Suppose IRDA gives you the responsibility of drafting ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY of a Surveyor, what will be your draft?
- How can you contribute to this cause SURVEYORS=SOLDIERS?
