 A holistic approach to growth
" India needs to marry spiritual growth with economic growth, without that no amount of venture capital funding for entrenerual push from organisations would make any big difference. "

- President Abdul Kalam, India

AN APPEAL TO READERS
The surveyors activity in Baroda and Gujarat per say has seen dramatic changes in past 3 years. The story started with Police complaints by some Insurance Companies on their own officials. This was followed by the C.B.I. raids on some Surveyors too. This created a havoc in the industry.

Parallel to this, the IRDA started its reforms process in full swing….? The opportunities were created for the Private Insurance Companies to flourish. The people who rode on these new horses were the same old people who couldn’t deliver the goods in their earlier spell, due to the constraints well known to all by now.

Today, the reforms are in its primitive stage, and there are some potential dangers we might have to face if we don’t wake up in time to take up corrective measures.
1. The methodology which is adopted by few Private players in the current market scenario is highly questionable. And unfortunately their accountability is equally questionable.  Sometimes we feel that is IRDA also allowing some escapism with deliberations or under pressure?

2. In the past the GIC subsidiaries have made blunders and did everything possible in their power to make the activity as a main resource for their personal gains, least bothered about what can happen when the system shall collapse.

3. Today, it is irreversibly true that the 4 big giants are almost on the verge of collapse; and merging, modifications, etc. are just BIG words of solace, because the soul is eroded from within. The veins of these beings are  blocked and even the best of the best Doctor can’t operate on them successfully for revival or rebirth. There has to be complete reforms and unless the leadership changes drastically this is not possible. Lekin gaddi kise chhodni hai? Aage aage dekho hota hai kya? If approached we would love to provide Consultancy on chargeable basis to them. We begin where others fail.

In IRDA’s reforms process we noticed that there is a systematic effort to bring in total transparency in every sphere of Insurance: Agents training, TPA, TAC etc.

But, when it comes to Surveying activity and Brokerage there is sh……………. These are two delicate areas in which ‘cut –paste’ policy shall not work, dear SIR. Kyunki yehi to sahi baat hai. Aaap chaho to bhi ise bypass nahi kar sakenge. Kyunki sabhi raste yehinse gujarate hai. Only fools can think that they can cut the wings of Surveyors and devise their policies to harm them, hurt them, unarm them, hire them, fire them, abolish them.

What does it indicate? Let’s analyze with a neutral approach.
1. These are two important elements of Insurance policy transaction, through whom the information and the accommodations flow.

2. In the beginning the kick-backs or accommodations and adjustments were limited to TOP notch cadre only.
3. Now with the explosive growth of information media, and increasing awareness (though not enough and right kind) even the lowest cadre peon knows the worth of passing away any piece of paper and the cost of delay. Thus he or she also doesn’t fear to demand his ‘extra’ from the beneficiary or intermediary because if the BOSS does it, why can’t I? Aap ko pata nahin, kabhi kabhi to file chuupane ke bhi bahut paise milte hai, salary se kai guna

4. Thus, the Surveyors and the Brokers both have also become equally aware of the importance of their role and have now become vigil and concerned about their true responsibility and accountability in honest sense, because they too have to remain transparent in all dealings, and to become transparent in all transactions means digging their own grave, because if they speak the truth the ‘annadata’ becomes upset and wouldn’t like their flaws be unearthed and made public.

5. This is the ‘catch 22’ situation
6. We anticipated all this 3 years ago when we decided to take up ISO 9001:2000 certification. Most of the industry laughed and giggled at us then, today the circumstances spell out clearly that without TRANSPARENCY there is “exit” only. Is patthar ki lakir ko manana ya nahin manana aapkee choice hai.

AB KUCHH ANDAR KI BAAT... (KAHI B SUN NA LE)
Under the banner of ISO also there are split personalities.

There is one category which truly believes in and has unbeatable faith in their value system and will never fall back on wrong footings or unreasonable demands of the “annadata” i.e. Insurance companies – New or Old. They are prepared to pay any price, let the employees go and join the competition inspite of having contractual agreements, sell their office premises and even the house if must, wait indefinitely for the “ annadata” to change their attitude and the way of looking upon the surveyors role, in order to preserve their basic value system

.The other category believes in ‘chameleon’ technology. Changes the Business strategy based on wind direction. This is a good business move, but my dear brothers, surveying is not a business it is a ‘respectable and respected profession’.

Hope I have made some sensible point here.

While writing this, I am absolutely aware that we are just 5 years old baby in this field, and have miles to go to prove ourselves on the job in all adversities, preserving the value system that we have built in.

We have unbeaten faith in GOD who created this humble, and equipotent Newsletter to light the lamp of transparency in every sphere of Insurance filed, especially the Surveyor’s role which is so close to my heart that it has become my true nature.  I feel blessed sufficiently to continue my journey on this path of wisdom and unbelievable achievements with your support. The choice is yours, whether to believe us or not and earlier you make the decision the better.

Wishing you all the best in your career and profession chosen by you. With all LOVE.

Lastly, I would like to mention that our doors are OPEN once again to conduct surveys and Valuation assignments with 100% Transparency. My cell is on: 9824021192 and Telefax: 0265 2464329.

WHAT WE THINK TODAY THE WORLD DOES AFTER DECADE
You have the power to shrink the response period to- a day/ week / month/ year / 2 years….
Please react and ACT in time.
Remember Yesterday was, tomorrow will be, but today is with us.

A quote from “ACT TODAY”   commentary by H. H. SWAMI CHINMAYANANDA

The present alone is the only time when we can work and achieve, gain and gather, give and serve. In the ‘past’ we can now do nothing. In the ‘future’ again we can now accomplish nothing. In the ‘dead’ moments of the past and the ‘unborn’ moments of the future we can never act. These living dynamic present moments are the only fields to be hammered at and wherein are all the glories of life, all the gains in existence. From the future, time floods over us who are standing in the present and gushes out to swirl with the continuous echo, of the past. Time never stops. It is fleeting and ‘now’ alone is the only auspicious occasion to initiate our new plans. Delays are always dangerous, useless and barren.  Today is the only day to attempt any great and worthy purpose.

Opportunity comes to all of us. The diligent ones catch hold of it, the foolish ones let it pass. Therefore let us be smart and awake to recognize our opportunity to serve and while it is within our reach, let us seize it and make it yield to us the results we demand. When we thus become awake to our chances and prove that we are smart to cash them, diligent to work at them and persevering enough to continue our efforts, spectacular results gracefully must come to reward our right and loyal exertion.

Let not fear of failure or fear of obstacles that might come and slow us down ever overwhelm us even a bit. Once we undertake a great and noble work, we are already set on the grand road leading to its total realization soon in complete success.

All spectacular successes were achieved in little courageous steps, taken with self confidence and faith, in the nobility of the final goal chosen. Small efforts when continuously and cheerfully put forth, pyramid up to become the edifice that stands out as a monumental work, a noble achievement. Courage of conviction and tireless enthusiasm to continue we must have in plenty. Success is sure to the sincere seeker.
